Charles gives serial numbers 337039 to 3438 and for 1904 serial numbers 343894 to 350207. According the the serial number chart for Model 1900s in Charles' book, your gun would be from late 1903. A picture of their salesman's sample of the various styles of Damascus available is shown on page 275 of Semmer's book. Remington supplied a number of different pattern Damascus barrels on these old doubles. As of publication of Volume Twenty-Three, Issue 2, of The Double Gun & Single Shot Journal, Summer 2012, 249 copies of Remington Double Shotguns remain, $49 plus $10 S&H, 80. The Model 1900s had a snap-on/off forearm and their serial numbers were in the 300,000 range, often preceded with a stock letter Q. The K- and KE-Grades had Remington Steel barrels. The Model 1900s were all K-Grades, with E added to the designation if the gun had ejectors and D if it had Damascus barrels - K-, KE-, KD-, or KED-Grades. Serial number 336,001-Januto serial number 345,00 on December 31, 1904. According to the serial number and interpolating the figures, the gun was made sometime in September or October 1904. Both guns will be chambered for a 2 1/2 inch shot shell. The other grade is just a plain K and has all the same features except a fluid steel barrel and no auto ejectors. KE is the grade of the gun and it should have damascus barrels, 1/2 pistol grip butt stock, hard rubber butt plate, matted top rib and auto ejectors. The Model 1900 was Remington's last double barrel until they took over the Parker Brothers Gun Company in1934. Made in 10.12 and 16 gauges with 28, 30 and 32 inch barrels.
